Does the colour really only appear in the rain?
Yes. The shell is coated matte black; water makes the coating clear, so the colour underneath shows exactly where the fabric gets wet. Sheltered spots stay black — that's how you know it's real.

Every time. As the shell dries, the coating turns opaque again and the jacket returns to plain black, ready for the next run.
